A Chatham-Kent man has been arrested following a child sexual abuse material investigation conducted by police.

According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), it received information in November that a resident was allegedly sharing child sexual abuse material through social media platform, Snapchat.

An investigation was launched, and officials executed a search warrant in Blenheim, where many electronics were seized.

According to the CKPS, it believes the man was talking to many different victims through various social media accounts, like Snapchat, Facebook Messenger and Discord.

On Dec. 3, police arrested a 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man. He is now facing charges for possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, making child pornography available and luring a person under the age of 18.

The man was held in custody, awaiting a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing.
