A man who was camping out in a bush in west Windsor has been arrested related to several alleged thefts in the area.

Windsor police received information on Sunday about the man in a makeshift campsite on city property in a green space located south of the 2000 block of Spring Garden Road.

Police went to the location and spoke with a 36-year-man who left a tent. Officers say it was apparent that the man had been established in the bush for some time.

Police found several items strewn around the site including an e-bike, chain saw, ladder, wheel barrow, gas generator, several tool sets including drills and socket sets.

An investigation was launched to try to establish ownership of the property discovered in the area. Police investigated break-ins in the 1800 block of Spring Garden Drive on Aug. 5 and the 2100 block of Spring Garden Road on August 31.

Several other complainants in the area have come forward indicating items have been taken from their sheds, say police.

The investigation led to another residence in the 2200 block of Yorktown, where it was discovered that the male was bringing additional property with the assistance of his 33-year-old friend.

Police believe the items of property at both locations were stolen.

Jordan Robinson, 33, was arrested for possession of stolen property.

Kevin Emisch, 36, who was discovered at the camp site, was arrested by LaSalle police on another matter. On Sept. 9, Windsor police investigators went to the Windsor detention unit and told Emish he was being charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to comply with a condition of judicial release.
