Kent Mannen
Producer, CTV News Barrie
Kent Mannen began working at CTV News in Barrie as weekend/web producer in 2012. Since then, Kent has worked as producer for CTV News at 6. He was born in northern Alberta and moved to Ottawa in 2004 before relocating to Barrie in 2012. Kent graduated from the Norther Institute of Technology with honours in 2002, and began his career shortly after as the morning show news anchor at AM radio station in High Prairie, AB - CKVH. From there he moved to Slave Lake, AB in the same position. In 2003, Kent moved from radio to television, taking a job with A-Channel Edmonton as a news writer. From there he was promoted to weekend producer. Late in 2004, Kent packed as much of his belongings as he could into his car and drove across the country to begin a career at the New RO in Ottawa. During his eight-year stint in the nation's capital, he worked as the weekend producer, morning show producer, and newscast producer. Kent, his wife and their two children call Barrie home. Outside the newsroom, Kent enjoys all types of sports, including helping coach his son’s hockey team. He speaks English.
