The pending sale of Valiant TMS Group is getting a ringing endorsement from the head of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association.
It was announced earler this week that Valiant Tool and Mold has been sold to an undisclosed Chinese consortium for an unknown amount.
"The Germans did it 50 years ago. The Japanese did it 30 years ago. The Chinese investing today in a very strategic asset in Windsor, is very good news," says Flavio Volpe.
Valiant TMS Group has 27 factories in 15 different countries.
Volpe says the sale makes sense as China is now the world's largest producer of automobiles, having manufactured 21 million cars last year.
He was asked if this purchase could spell the end of Valiant in Windsor.
"To pick up those assets and bring them to China would be to start all over again and then spend money to do it," he says.
