Attack against home owner random: Windsor police

Windsor police have arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a 61-year-old man during a home invasion.
Officers say it happened in the 700 block of Tuscarora Street around 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
The 61-year-old man was watching television with his wife when a man entered their home through the back door.
The man began assaulting the husband – who was able to fend off the attacker and push him outside.
Neighbours heard the wife screaming and called police. She was shaken but not physically harmed.
The man was treated for lacerations.
Police later picked up a 30-year-old suspect matching the description near the 600 block of Aylmer Avenue. He had a small contusion on his head from the altercation with the homeowner.
Ravi Seecharan, 30, is charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon and assault.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the residence was targeted, but believe the incident was random.
