Chatham-Kent OPP are looking for a man after an alleged assault that may have been racially motivated at the Tilbury Enroute service centre off Highway 401.

Officers were called to the service station at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Police say the suspect assaulted the victim outside the centre.

It started as a result of a driving dispute between the two men driving into the service centre in their respective tractor trailers. Due to the nature of the assault, OPP investigators believe the assault may have been racially motivated.

The suspect is described as a white man age 30-35, about 5’7” with a stocky build and short brown hair. He was wearing a ball cap with a purple T-shirt.

Police say he left the scene in a tractor trailer heading westbound on the 401.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chatham-Kent OPP at 519-352-1122or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
