Windsor police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting incident Thursday.

On Friday, around 6 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at an apartment building located at the Northeast corner of Pierre Avenue and Erie Street East.

A firearm and some cocaine was seized.

A 23 year old Windsor man has been arrested and charged with offences in relation to the seized firearm and drugs.

Police say he is Charles Pinnace.  He's facing the following charges:

  • possession of a restricted firearm
  • possession of cocaine
  • possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace

Pinnace was arraigned Saturday afternoon.

Windsor police say they have now recovered both firearms believed to have been involved in the shooting.

They will be subjected to extensive forensic testing.

Police are still looking for a suspect in relation to the incident.

He is described as Arabic or a light skinned black man in his 20's, approximately 5'6" or 5'7" with a skinny build.

He was wearing a white shirt with black around the collar and around the sleeves at the cuff and had a short "buzzed" haircut.

The suspect arrived at the scene and left in a vehicle.

It is described as being a black Pontiac Sunfire or Chevrolet Impala.

The car has been described as being shiny black all over except the hood which is dull.

Police are also seeking to identify a man who appeared to have been injured during the incident.

He left the scene in another vehicle with the assistance of several men.

Police are asking that anyone with information in relation to the incident call police.

A section of Erie Street East at Pierre Avenue was cordoned off by police Thursday night, following a shooting just before 9 p.m.

Officers discovered a 23-year-old man lying on the concrete platform in front of the four unit apartment building.

The victim was bleeding from a wound in his arm and neck.

He underwent surgery to repair fractured bones in his right forearm.

Through their investigation police learned a fight broke out in the middle of the intersection involving several men.

Police say a vehicle pulled up to the intersection and a man fired up to five rounds towards the apartment.

Two bullet holes were found in the front of the apartment building.
