Its orange sweep across Windsor-Essex, as the city’s lone Liberal incumbent Teresa Piruzza suffers an upset.

NDP candidate Lisa Gretzky surpassed Piruzza early on in the polls for the riding of Windsor West. Experts predicted the riding to be a wild card, becoming one of the key spots to watch across the province.

In Windsor-Tecumseh and Essex, NDP incumbents Percy Hatfield and Taras Natyshak hammered the competition – being declared winners by CTV early in the race.

The only riding not to go orange was Chatham-Kent-Essex with Progressive Conservative incumbent Rick Nicholls being re-elected.  It looked as though Nicholls would have a race on his hands, but quickly took the lead.

The orange crush across the region comes at the Liberals secured a majority government throughout Ontario.  Premier Kathleen Wynne secured her majority government with at least 57 seats – the Liberals only needed 54 seats.
