Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo is expected to undergo surgery Tuesday after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle collision Monday afternoon.
Town officials confirm the 47-year-old and his wife were on his motorcycle when the single-vehicle crash occurred.
OPP report the incident happened at the intersection of Broadway Street and Ducharme Street, and both DiCarlo and his wife were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Town Chief Administrative Officer, John Miceli, the mayor suffered a broken clavicle and scapula.
DiCarlo’s wife isn’t reported to have sustained any significant injuries.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
