Amherstburg firefighters were called to a blaze at a home under construction on Thursday morning.
Crews responded to the 700 block of Front Road. The road was closed, but it has since been reopened to traffic in both directions.
Officials say the fire was out when firefighters got there. The fire was contained to a small area in the living room.
Damage is estimated at $500,000. It remains under investigation.
There were no reported injuries.
Amherstburg police were also on scene.
No word yet on damages.
