An Amherstburg couple is applauding the work of an organization that connects people with golden retrievers seeking a forever home.
Jim and Claire Warnock had always owned golden retrievers and were looking for a new animal to love after their dog died last year.
That is when they turned to Golden Rescue, one of the largest single breed dog rescue groups in Canada.
Jim Warnock says "We drove up to Ottawa for the weekend, met Sacha on the Saturday and we couldn't wait to bring her home."
Claire Warnock admits it was love at first sight, and says Sacha is now part of the family and the neighbourhood.
Since 1990 Golden Rescue has found homes for more than 24 hundred abandoned, unwanted or displaced golden retrievers.
