Gary Archibald

Meteorologist

Home is where the heart is – that statement describes the broadcast career of Gary Archibald.  Born and raised in Toronto, Gary describes himself as having strong ties his Canadian roots.  A journalism and broadcast career spanning two decades has taken the Torontonian from the Big Smoke to the Big Apple and back.

Having just completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto, an opportunity to model for world-renown agency Elite Model Management opened the door to a long career in front-of the camera.

Gary’s first foray into television media was as a writer and editor for The Sports Network.  Then, he made a transition to being in front of the camera as a reporter for Rogers Television covering the St. Michael’s Majors of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).  From there, his “calling” to weather took him to the national stage for several years as an anchor for Canada’s leading source for weather information – The Weather Network

In 2006, scouted by NBC – Gary went to the news media capital of the world – 30 Rock, Manhattan, NY.  Covering hurricanes, tornado outbreaks, tsunami events, Nor’easter’s and the like – Gary was a mainstay with NBC Universal networks and stations in North America and around the world.

Gary and his chocolate Labrador Retriever Dino are very happy to make Windsor home.

Gary has appeared in numerous television commercials and made his feature film debut in “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle” (2004).

In his spare time, Gary loves photography, reading, coaching football, fine-dining, music and spending time with close family and friends.
