Windsor police believe a 19-year-old shooting victim was dumped on Brant Street after being shot at a different location.

Officers were called to Brant Street and Louis Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday after an injured man was reported in the street.

Police arriving at the scene discovered the victim in obvious distress. He was bleeding profusely from what is now known to be a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers on scene tended to the victim and initiated first-aid treatment.  EMS attended the scene and continued life-saving measures. They transported to the victim to hospital.

Police say he is in the Intensive Care Unit, but his injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Through investigation, police say a black or dark coloured pick-up truck was observed turning east onto Brant Street from northbound Louis Avenue. The vehicle travelled a short distance and came to a stop.

The driver of the truck exited the driver's door and walked around to the passenger side of the vehicle.  The driver pulled the victim from the passenger seat and left him on the roadway, say police. The driver returned to the truck and drove away east on Brant Street.

Police believe that the victim was shot at another primary crime scene location prior to being left at the Brant Street location.

Officers are looking to speak to the driver of the truck and are asking anyone with information in relation to this incident to call.

The driver of the truck is described as a white male, 5'10" with short hair.
