A woman has been fined after officers allegedly witnessed her applying makeup while driving in south Windsor.

According to police, an officer was traveling behind a slow moving vehicle on Howard Avenue under the E.C. Row Expressway, Saturday. When the officer pulled up next to the car, police say he witnessed the woman doing her makeup.

A two-year-old child was also in the vehicle at the time.

The woman was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for the offence of careless driving.

It comes on the same day an OPP report cited distracted driving as the number one cause of death on Ontario roadways.
