LaSalle police say a dead body pulled from the Detroit River on Sunday morning has been identified as a missing 80-year-old woman.

Joan Dupuis, of LaSalle, who was reported missing on Feb. 19, has been found deceased, according to police.

Two fishermen found a body floating in the Detroit River near Amherstburg. It was recovered by the Canadian Coast Guard.

OPP investigators along with officers from Amherstburg and LaSalle attended the Coast Guard Station. The Ontario Coroner's Office also attended the scene.

Investigators examined the body and confirmed the identity.

When she was reported missing in February, police say her vehicle was located along Front Road near the river.

No foul play is suspected in this matter.
