Windsor police are confident they have found the rightful owner of jewelry that was found on the roof of The Beer Store last month.

Police released a picture on Tuesday of two rings discovered by a maintenance worker on the roof of the Goyeau Street store.

Several other jewelry items were also found on the rooftop.

A Windsor woman called police and was able to provide specific details about the jewelry that only the owner would know, say police. Some of the items had personal inscriptions.

Officers say the woman provided very accurate and detailed descriptions to police and they are satisfied that she is the rightful owner.

The woman was a victim of a break and enter in April, 2014 in the 1500 block of Marentette Avenue.

Police say she is quite pleased to get the items back since they have sentimental value to her.
