A Windsor woman is dead, six others injured following a head-on collision in northwestern New Jersey, Friday night.

State police tell CTV News that 53-year-old Deepa Panchal suffered a fatal head injury in the collision, at approximately 11:37 p.m. on county route 517 in Allamuchy Township, N.J.

Sgt. Adam Grossman says a black Acura sedan was traveling northbound, when police say the driver allegedly failed to yield while making a left-hand turn. As a result, the Acura collided with a tan-coloured Toyota Sienna carrying six passengers.

Panchal succumbed to her injuries. Six others, including two also from Windsor were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Michael Dalessio, 31, of Hackettstown, N.J., is charged with driving while intoxicated.
