Windsor police says a 66-year-old woman was found dead in a Thursday night apartment fire.
Firefighters rushed to a unit on the fifth floor of the Ken Gerard Senior’s Apartment at 3490 Ypres Ave.
According to Fire Services spokesperson, John Lee, one person was found dead in the living room of the apartment. Windsor police is assisting the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been called in to investigate the fire.
Police says preliminary reports show the fire was accidental.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Investigators estimate damage at $25,000.
