Expansion at Windsor’s Community Museum is about to get underway.
On Friday, Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis, along with Essex MP Jeff Watson marked the next phase in the museum’s expansion project.
The $6.2 million project will see 10,000 sq. ft. added to the main floor of the Art Gallery of Windsor. Part of the expansion will include a new Windsor exhibit, an aboriginal gallery and a children’s gallery.
The city also announced that Oscar Construction Company Ltd. was the successful proponent for the project.
Construction is expected to begin in the near future, with upgrades scheduled to finish by October 2015.
