As the cold winter drags on retailers continue to have a hard time keeping much needed items in stock. The latest item to offer slim pickings is space heaters.
Several major box stores, including Home Depot, Lows and Wal-Mart are completely sold out of space heaters. Two national chains, Canadian Tire and Home Hardware do have them in stock, but are quickly flying off the shelves.
Salt also continues to be sparse in Windsor-Essex.
“We were selling basically any kind of salt... Pool salt, we have some customers coming in and buying table salt for their front porches," says Home Hardware owner Dave Aldous.
Warmer temperatures are forecast to hit the area next week.
