Windsor police are again reminding people about the dangers of carrying replica and pellet hand guns in public places.

Police seized an air pistol, which they say looks like a semi-automatic pistol.

It started when officers attended a weapons call in Jackson Park - next to Kennedy High School over the noon hour.

A young male was seen with a firearm in his waistband.

A suspect matching the description was spotted later in the area of Giles Boulevard and Ouellette Avenue.

Police say he broke into a run after discarding a black firearm in hedges.

He was eventually arrested at gunpoint.

A 16-year-old is facing a number of weapons offences.
