Windsor police have released video and pictures and are asking for the public’s help in the Brant Street murder investigation.

Colin Chrisjohn, 24, from Windsor is charged with second-degree murder.

The body of Amir Hayat Malik, a 32-year-old Windsor man, was found in an alley behind 563 Brant Street last Thursday.

Officers at the scene say there was obvious signs of trauma to the victim and he was pronounced deceased. The deceased male was later identified as Malik.

Major Crime Branch detectives along with other units began to investigate the death which was deemed to be a homicide.

Post-mortem examination results indicate that Malik died as a result of blood loss caused by severe trauma to the body, according to police.

Police say through an extensive investigation detectives were able to identify a person allegedly responsible for the death. The suspect was located and placed under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Detectives are attempting to determine the whereabouts of the victim and accused prior to the homicide.

The video and pictures shows the victim and accused together. Police are looking to locate members of the public that may have seen the two together between the hours of 1 a.m. and 7 a.m.
