Windsor police have charged three youths, ages 12, 13 and 14, with arson after two vacant house fires on Sunday night.

Officers were called to Felix Avenue and Edison Street for a break and enter in progress around 6:30 p.m.

Police were told two young males and a young female were seen breaking into a vacant residence in the 800 block of Felix.

The suspects allegedly gained entry by removing a piece of plywood that was covering the door. They were reportedly seen exiting the house and leaving the scene southbound.

When officers arrived they observed smoke billowing from the residence so they requested Windsor firefighters to attend.

Windsor fire crews arrived and learned of a second blaze at another vacant house in the 800 block of Felix Avenue.

Officers found three suspects matching the description in the area of College Avenue and Brock Street and they were placed under arrest.

Police say one of the males was in possession of two lighters, which were seized.

Windsor fire officials say both fire were determined to be intentionally set.

The three youths were later released to their parents and they face the following charges:

A 14-year-old male from Windsor faces two counts of arson cause property damage, two counts of break and enter and possess incendiary device for arson.

A 13-year-old male from Windsor faces two counts of arson cause property damage and two counts of break and enter.

A 12-year-old female from LaSalle faces two counts of arson cause property damage and two counts of break and enter.
