Windsor police have arrested a suspect who was allegedly carrying an axe during a convenience store robbery Thursday night.

Officers were called out to the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Reginald Street around 8:30p.m.

An employee at Fred’s Variety told CTV, a woman came into the store carrying an axe and demanded money.

The store clerk handed the suspect some cash and two packs of cigarettes before she fled on foot.

The woman remains in police custody and charges are pending.
