Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has met with officials from the Ambassador Bridge company for the first time since winning this fall's municipal election.

Along with Ward 2 Councillor John Elliott and the city's legal department, Dilkens met with bridge officials on Monday.

The city was given a presentation on the proposed twin span and provided with answers to several questions.

Dilkens says the city will take a stand on the twinning of the bridge at a future date.

"Clearly the City of Windsor - as an interested party - an affectd party to this development, we will be taking a position, but you know what, this was kind of an initial meeting, a get-to-know-you meeting, and we had a good converstaion."

The company had asked to speak with Dilkens during the election campaign, but the mayor wanted to wait.
