Homeless women in Windsor got pampered Tuesday thanks to the stylists at Salon Brush.

The women from the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women will get salon and esthetic services for free at the new salon at 1317 Ottawa Street.

Chief salon stylist Carolyn Mascarin, a 25-year industry veteran, feels it is imperative to give back to women who are struggling to get by day to day.

"When we were planning our opening, we all got together and decided we wanted to do something special for women who normally would not be able to afford our upscale services,” says Mascarin.

Mascarin says she hopes the royal treatment with uplift their hearts and spirits for the holiday season.

"I think we all know the restorative power of a makeover, a treat day for ourselves when things are difficult,” says Lady Laforet, executive director of the shelter.

Laforet says the centre is currently supporting 24 women, who were all eligible to receive the special treat.
