Windsor-Essex’s housing market is expected to balance out after a record breaking winter.

According to a report by RE/MAX, the spring housing market was delayed due to the harsh weather that carried through into March. As a result, the region was pushed into a sellers’ market, as fewer people were looking to buy.

RE/MAX says a transition back to a balanced market is predicted once the weather improves. At the same time, the average home selling price was $176,000 in March. That’s down 1.8 per cent compared to the same month in 2013.

However, local selling prices are expected to rise by 4 per cent in 2014.
