Cancer patients in Windsor-Essex, who say they were affected by diluted cancer drugs, are holding a meeting this weekend.
A settlement was reached earlier this month in a class-action lawsuit for cancer patients who were given watered-down chemotherapy drugs.
About 290 of the patients named in the class-action live in Windsor Essex, including Louise Martens.
She tells CTV Windsor the settlement is “a slap in the face. I would have preferred to have received zero.”
The total settlement is worth more than $2 milllion. Each patient in the class action would receive about $1,500.
Martens, who has become an advocate for the local group of patients, says many others are not happy with that amount.
Martens is holding the meeting on Sunday for those affected, along with their loved ones, to figure out their next step.
The patients in the class action lawsuit have until Dec. 7 to accept or reject the settlement.
