The group overseeing construction of the Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway is reminding drivers about changes to traffic patterns starting 7 p.m. on Friday.

Howard Avenue north of Highway 3 will be closed for about one month, as crews reconstruct the intersection. The closure is limited to the area directly north of the intersection and is not expected to impact local residents accessing homes on Howard.

Local traffic accessing Southwood Lakes subdivision will be allowed to use Howard to Havens Drive.

Also, Highway 401 traffic, including trucks, will be temporarily shifted onto the parkway’s multi-lane roundabout starting over the weekend. The roundabout will be used until a new section of the 401 is completed, and that work is anticipated to wrap-up later this year.

The traffic shift is required to allow the final configuration for Highway 401 and Highway 3 at the east end of the parkway corridor.

Unrelated, the City of Windsor will close westbound lanes of the E.C. Row Expressway between Howard Avenue and Dougall Avenue on Saturday between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.
