The Windsor International Film Festival has announced record ticket sales at the 2016 festival, reaching a goal of 20,000 tickets sold for the first time ever.

WIFF is a not-for-profit organization, and is completely volunteer-based. The festival is currently celebrating its 12th year.

Organizers say they had a mix of local, Canadian and international features, shorts, and docs.

This year, WIFF showed 107 films from 22 countries over 165 screenings from Nov 1 – Nov. 6.

Last year’s ticket sales reached almost  17,000.
