It’s the first week of spring, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to put away the winter gear just yet.

Many residents in Windsor and Essex County woke up to some fresh, wet snow on the ground Thursday morning. The white stuff has been melting fast, but more could be on the way on Friday.

Environment Canada predicted the snowfall amount for the area to be up to two centimeters Thursday morning. The snow turned into rain as the day progressed with a predicted high of 4 Celsius.

Temperatures could dip down to -4 C Thursday night. The forecaster says there’s a 60 per cent chance of flurries on Friday and a chilly high of -1 C.

The normal high this time of year is 9 C.
