Queen Milli of Galt – University Players

University Players presents Queen Milli of Galt, running from Nov. 25 until Dec. 4th. Director Marc Bondy expects the audience to get wrapped up in the romantic tale based on a true story. After the 1972 death of the Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII), an 80-year-old woman from Galt, Ont., had her tombstone engraved—naming herself as his wife. The play begins when the handsome Prince visits Galt, in the autumn of 1919, and meets a feisty and irresistible young Milli.  He says countless hours went into the intricate sets. Creator Gary Kirkham will be at the performances this weekend.
