Tears for Fears

As promised, Tears For Fears is back on the road after postponing 15 tour summer dates due to “family illness.” Windsor fans don’t have to wait much longer. The rescheduled date at Caesars Windsor is Friday at 9 p.m. Recognised for such hits as “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, and “Shout”, Tears For Fears was one of the most commercially successful British bands of the 1980’s. They sold millions of albums and headlining arenas with their dark-hued synth-pop. Caesars officials say tickets for the July 17 show will be honoured for the rescheduled date.

Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper pioneered a theatrical band of hard rock that was designed to shock. He’s bringing his show to Caesars Windsor on Sunday night at 8pm on his “Spend The Night With Alice Cooper” tour. The multi-platinum performer earned a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. He’s known to draw from horror movies, heavy metal, and garage rock, and has rattled more than a few cages. Tickets start at $40 and there are a few select seats available.

Oktoberfest

Windsor’s Oktoberfest 2016 runs this weekend at the Heimat Windsor Banquet Centre on Drouillard. On Friday, there’s a harmony band, contests, prizes, Bavarian dancers. On Saturday, there’s The Hetzel Band, contests, prizes, Bavarian dancers.

Red Dirt Skinners

An award-winning British blues and country duo Red Dirt Skinners is stopping at the Olde Walkerville Theatre on Friday night. The husband and wife team draws on influences from folk, country, blues, Americana, jazz and everything between. They are currently promoting their latest album “Behind the Wheel”, which was released in March. Catherine McKeever Memorial Concert

Windsor’s musical community is honouring Catherine McKeever with a memorial concert at Assumption Hall. It will feature performances by music alumni, former students and members of her private studio.  The event is being organized by Music Alumni and is a fundraiser for the McKeever Voice Scholarship at the University of Windsor.  McKeever was a longtime voice instructor at the University of Windsor. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission by donation to the scholarship at the door.
