Jethro Tull by Ian Anderson

Ian Anderson and his bandmates from Jethro Tull at set to take the Caesars Windsor stage on Sunday night. The concert is expected to feature a solid collection of the best-known Jethro Tull repertoire from 1968 to today. Fans will likely recognize the key songs from that era, including “Aqualung”, “Locomotive Breath” and “A New Day Yesterday.” Anderson is also releasing a new album with The Carducci String Quartet titled Jethro Tull - The String Quartets. Tickets start at $40 Canadian and there are still some available.

Sip, Savour and Experience Leamington

Food Network Chef Lynn Crawford will be making an appearance at Sip, Savour and Experience in Leamington. Crawford is a cookbook author, restaurant owner and celebrity chef. The event will feature local music combined with fresh food and drink along Leamington’s waterfront from Friday to Sunday. It’s stacked with local live entertainment, including singer Jody Rafoul.

Abridged Opera

Windsor’s first independent opera company, Abridged Opera concludes their summer season. Hansel and Gretel is on Aug. 20 at 2:45 p.m. at Leamington Sip and Savour Festival. On Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. and August 20 at 2:30 p.m., Abridged Opera will perform Carmen at Wagner Orchards and Estate Winery in the hay barn.

Opera Luminata

The Chrysler Theatre is hosting an event for people that love opera and want to be entertained.   
Organizers say Opera Luminata is a concert production featuring up to 12 professionally trained classical singers.  Four feature soloists (soprano Shoshana Friedman, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Centrone, tenor Pablo Benitez and baritone Diego Catala) are a staple in each performance and represent the best in their vocal ranges.  The show for all ages.

Chaps and Spurs Country Fest

Enjoy two days of great food, activities, vendors and country music including tributes to Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Shania Twain, plus national recording acts Steve Oriet, Eric Ethridge, Leah Daniels, James Barker Band, and more.  Ride Fu Manchu the area’s angriest mechanical bull. Must be 19+ to attend. Fair grounds admission is free. Main stage admission is $15 and up. Lanspeary Park – 1250 Langlois Ave, Windsor.

Ouellette Car Cruise

Step back in time on Ouellette Avenue. The second annual Ouellette Car Cruise takes place this Friday. There will be an assortment of Chevy, Chrysler and Ford vehicles. Our own Jim Crichton will showcase his '66 Chrysler 300 in the cruise. Last year more than 700 cruisers took to Windsor streets, this year, organizers are hoping to attract even more people.
