The Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation announced a $400,000 commitment on Wednesday in support of the new Ronald McDonald House Windsor.

Honorary Campaign Chair, Celina Ussoletti, says that W.E. Care for Kids is confident that the “new facility will positively impact ill children and their families” and that “W.E. Care for Kids is honored to be able to support such a wonderful initiative for our community.”

Ussoletti also announced that the campaign supporting the new Ronald McDonald House has already received lots of community support from some major donors.

The Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Foundation helped kick off fundraising efforts with a $150,000 donation.

“Stephanie and Barry are well known within our community for being huge champions for Windsor and Essex County,” says Ussoletti.

In honour of the Zekelman’s generosity two public lounge areas within the new Ronald McDonald House will be named in their honour.

Camille and Dave Cecchin donated $50,000 in support of the new facility and also will have a room in the new Ronald McDonald House named in their honour.

Fo Abiad of Windsor Textiles Ltd. also gave $50,000 and will be honoured in the naming of the kitchen in the house.

The campaign still has $130,000 left to raise.
