Talks between the University of Windsor and faculty association have reportedly taken a turn for the worst.

Windsor University Faculty Association (WUFA) president Anne Forrest tells CTV News administration has walked away from the bargaining table..

The university has also reportedly set a new deadline deadline for Monday, at which time the university doesn't plan to lock out employees, but does plan to impose a new contract.

It's the same contract the faculty association rejected on July 15th.

In a letter sent to WUFA and obtained by CTV News, administration says the terms of their final offer will remain in place until a collective agreement can be ratified by all members.

The university's president won't confirm the newest deadline, but has said all other university staff have accepted a wage freeze, except for faculty.

WUFA, meanwhile, says they won't settle for less than other faculty in Ontario.

The union represents nearly 1,000 full time and part time faculty members. The Ministry of Labour has been at the bargaining table with both sides, to help facilitate an agreement.

WUFA has been without a contract since July 3rd.
