Windsor police are looking for the owner of a United States Marine Corps medal after a suspect was arrested for a break-in at an apartment on Riverside Drive.

Police say surveillance video captured the man forcing open the front door of the building in the 500 block of Riverside Drive West at 3 a.m. on Dec. 17.

While in the building, he allegedly stole a parcel in the lobby, opened up residents’ mail and entered two vehicles that were parked in the basement.

Police say several items were taken in the incident. The male suspect was identified by police and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Officers found the suspect on Monday around 3p.m. in the 3200 block of Dougall Avenue and arrested him without incident.

They also found the Marine Corps medal in his possession, which is believed to have been stolen.

Police are hoping someone can identify the medal and the unique details on the back.

Jeffrey Fletcher, 31, of Windsor, is charged with break and enter, possessing break and enter tools, and two counts of theft of mail.
