A burst of heavier snow is moving through the Detroit region according to a special weather statement by the U.S. National Weather Service.

Environment Canada hasn’t issued any special warnings for the Windsor area. The forecast is for periods of snow amounting to two to four centimetres and a high -5 C.

The American service says the snow will progress from a Monroe, Mich., to Howell, Mich., eastward through Detroit, Pontiac, Mich., and Mount Clemens, Mich.

The prediction is an accumulation of an inch or less, but it will come with low visibility for motorists and slick conditions on untreated roads.
