A visit by the national CUPE president wasn't enough to restart talks at the University of Windsor.

Union president Paul Moist and CUPE 1393 leader Dean Roy met with university president Alan Wildeman on Wednesday.

The meeting was described as "cordial.”

The two sides discussed issues and the union remains hopeful to resume negotiations.

However, university spokesperson Holly Ward tells CTV News talks are not continuing.

Talks to end the more than three week old strike broke down over the weekend.
