Chatham-Kent OPP say two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries when a motorcycle crashed on Highway 401 Friday afternoon.

Police say the crash happened just after 2 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the On Route Service Centre.

The rear tire of the BMW motorcycle reportedly blew, causing the driver to lose control. The motorcycle came to rest on its side on the highway, along with both occupants.

The 35-year-old male driver and 30-year-old female passenger, both from Ann Arbor, Mich., were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
