U.S. Customs and Border Protection are reminding travelers to expect long lines for those heading into Michigan this American Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

CBP says travelers should prepare for the inspection process before arriving, by having all documents ready and declaring all goods going into the U.S.

“We are anticipating heavy holiday traffic at Michigan border crossings,” said director of field operations, Christopher Perry. “During these high volume traffic periods, it is important to have your documents ready in order to save time.”

CBP says travelers should give themselves extra time, to compensate for the long lines.
