Two men are arrested, after $300,000 worth of marijuana was discovered during a traffic stop in Chatham-Kent.

Officers with Chatham-Kent OPP stopped a Buick vehicle on Highway 401 eastbound near Communication Road on Jan. 3 around 1 p.m.

Police say a search of the vehicle lead to the seizure of several bags allegedly containing approximately 99 g of suspected marijuana, with an estimated value of $990. Officer say they also uncovered 289 suspected marijuana plants, estimated at $300,000.

Police have charged 43-year-old Robert Sproats and 52-year-old Shawn Power of Brampton is charged with possession of a schedule substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both men will appear in court on Feb. 13.
