The Windsor-Essex Humane County Society is looking to speak to the owner of a litter of puppies after they were abandoned near a dumpster in the city's east side.
Melanie Coulter, executive director, says the eight puppies were abandonded in a box Saturday night in the area of Meadowbrook Lane and Sycamore Drive.
The puppies are a medium-sized mixed breed and roughly three to four weeks old. In most cases, puppies should remain with their mothers until they are seven to eight weeks old.
They're now in good health in a foster home.
The humane society wants to speak to the owner, so they can better address the puppies medical history.
