A 62-year-old Tecumseh man has been arrested after a robbery at a pharmacy in east Windsor.

On Friday around 3 a.m., Windsor police were dispatched to the Shopper's Drug Mart located at Tecumseh Road East and Banwell Road for a robbery that just occurred. 

Investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the store and went directly behind the pharmacy counter.  He allegedly demanded a quantity of sleeping pills and Percocet pills while brandishing a knife.  After obtaining a quantity of narcotics he quickly left the store.

Investigators received information of a male from Tecumseh that was suffering a medical emergency who was transported to hospital for treatment. 

After reviewing video surveillance and attending the hospital officers identified this male as the alleged robbery suspect.  At approximately 12:15pm the male was placed under arrest.

The Tecumseh man is charged with robbery.  He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
