Who says a Tecumseh business can't shine on the world stage?

Baron Championship Rings is the official manufacturer for the 2016 NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavs players received their historic rings prior to their season opener on Tuesday night.

Baron Vice President Drina Baron-Zinyk admits she “teared up” when she saw that” and she calls it their Oscar moment for the small company on County Road 42.

The ring designer tells CTV Windsor the ring is very unique – with 46 stones for the 46 years the team has been around.

The 6.5 carat ring is encrusted with over 400 diamonds. In fact, it’s the heaviest ever made for an NBA champion.

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert also ordered about 1500 smaller replica rings for everyone in the organization.

Baron's has been around for 35 years, with humble family beginnings in Chatham before moving to Windsor and Tecumseh.

But their business is growing. Baron-Zinyk says they also manufactured the rings for the Men’s Olympic basketball team.

Baron officials say they've already been contacted by the Cleveland Indians who are currently playing in the World Series.

The jewelers will remain in Cleveland for the next couple weeks while they vie against other companies to create perhaps another pro sports champion ring.
