The U.S. Coast Guard is no stranger when it comes to rescuing stranded snowmobilers or fisherman on the icy waters, but they got a surprise when they located a dog on Lake St. Clair.
Crew members with the Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay found the dog stranded on the Tuesday.
Crew members transported the dog to the ship and hoisted it aboard.
The dog was provided food and first aid before being transported to an animal shelter for further care.
