A single-vehicle collision has claimed the life of a St. Clair Township man.

According to Chatham-Kent OPP, a GMC Jimmy was travelling south on Highway 40 north of Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg when it rolled into a ditch early Thursday morning.

One person was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say 61-year-old Walter Kenneth Brown of St Clair Township was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 40 between Langstaff Line and Dufferin Avenue was closed for approximately six hours. The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators assisted with the investigation.
