Multiple sources are telling CTV News the new Chrysler Pacifica will range in price from $44,000 to $54,500.

Chris Paniccia, manager at Racicot Chrysler in Amherstburg, says they’ve been fielding a lot of questions about the new minivan.

“Every day since the Detroit auto show back in January once news was release and video of the new van, it's been non-stop, people calling, wanting to know features, pricing, when they can get their hands on one.”

Even though the trim price is $54,500, a top-of-the-line Pacifica with all the options is expected to reach $61,000, which is higher than auto analysts predicted.

The base price, with no options, would be $44,000.

FCA Canada spokesperson LouAnn Gosselin said in an email to CTV News “We have not officially announced Pacifica pricing at this time.”

FCA Canada says the new minivan will hit showroom floors in the spring.

Auto analysts were predicting the price point will be similar to, or just slightly above the cost of a Town and Country. The trim price for the Town and Country on Chrysler.ca is $34,695 to $40,695. Fully loaded that could reach $46,700.

“Most everything I saw from automotive sources up until now was an expectation for Pacifica prices to be slightly below the Toyota and Honda minivans,” says auto analyst Tony Faria.

He says it looks a little bit more like and SUV or CUV now, and Chrysler has decided they're going to price it more like an CUV and SUV than a typical minivan.

Paniccia says the more affordable Dodge Grand Caravan will be still around for the foreseeable future.

“It'll give a viable option for everyone who wants to get into the minivan market,” says Paniccia.

The first 2017 Pacifica vans started rolling off the production line at the Windsor Assembly Plant last week.
