The Shores of Erie International Wine Festival is getting a boost from the federal government.

Government house leader Peter Van Loan announced $62,600 on Thursday morning in Amherstburg, as part of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.

“The remarkable development of Canada's wine industry over the past 25 years is reason to celebrate at the Shores of Erie International Wine Festival,” Van Loan said in a statement. “I invite you all to take part in this festival that brings excitement to the community while celebrating its local history and heritage.”

The festival runs from Sept. 4 to Sept. 7.
