Animal rescue workers and firefighters are rescuing several ducks and swans at a Windsor marina.

Workers with Wings Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and All Things Wild Animal Removal are helping the distressed birds.

Some of the birds became stuck to the ice on the Detroit River in the cold weather. Firefighters on scene were venturing onto the ice to help them.

So far, at least 14 ducks and six swans were rescued on Friday.

Unfortunately, there were also several dead ducks and swans at the marina.

Many of the birds are also out there trying to stay warm in the bitter cold.
